Capuano's bad luck continues

capuano.jpg

Sometimes, a guy just can't get a break. While others seem to basically be immune to injury, others seem to have an issue even if they breathe in too deep. For Chris Capuano, he's very much the latter. Capuano had an MRI after injuring his elbow against Seattle, and the worst that could happen did--he had a torn ulnar collateral ligament, which means at the very minimum he will be out for an extended time.

The basic choice for Capuano is to not have surgery and rehab--hard--for three months at a minimum; but, even with that, there's no guarantee that things would be ok. The other choice is that he has Tommy John surgery and misses the entire season. The probably choice is surgery--he already had it done in 2002 and was out for almost 11 months.

Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise; Capuano started out 2007 with a 5-0 record and then suddenly lost any ability to win games, as he lost 12 straight and the Brewers actually the final 22 that he was involved in throughout the season. But one thing is for sure--his future for the 2008 season is probably 99% in doubt, and coming back from one Tommy John surgery is hard enough, much less two.
